About this site, goals, sources, and my perspective.

Cape Cod, MA, as seen from the International Space Station, April 2018

“A keen wind from the west struck our faces, and as swiftly as it had come the fog rolled away from us, in one mighty mass, stripping clean and pure the starry dome of heaven…”

― Erskine Childers, The Riddle of the Sands

My goal is to provide the resources and a record that is easily accessible in regards to Cape Cod’s water issues. Water is the defining characteristic of the Cape. Water brought the very earth that forms Cape Cod and has shaped it’s evolution ever since. It has carved the outlines of our shores. Defined the local environment, economy and culture.

Water is also presents Cape Cod’s most complex challenges both currently and in decades to come. Wastewater, sea level rise, fisheries, soaring property values driven by the proximity to valuable waterfronts. How will the Cape address these issues?
